December 3, 2017 Morning Worship
Members and guests of Vine Street Baptist Church were warmly welcomed to a sanctuary decorated for the season. Candles, wreaths, a Christmas tree and red bows adorned the room to celebrate the arrival of the newborn King.
Today’s service began with Pastoral Assistant Joshua McCarthy reading Isaiah 9:2-7 and saying a prayer. Jacob and Jaime Hatcher sang Jesus Messiah as they led the gathered in song. Jacob welcomed everyone and gave time for fellowship.
Joshua gave a few announcements, then said a pastoral prayer.

After the sermon, the congregation participated in the Lord’s Supper. After the elements were passed and taken, everyone stood and sang How Great is Our God during a time of reflection.
Spencer introduced two new members, Adam and Mattie Perez. A testimony sheet was made available to everyone to pick up and read to get to know the Perez’ a little better. Spencer closed the service with an invitation for anyone to speak to a pastor after the service about church membership, becoming a Christian, or to discuss today’s sermon. He read a closing scripture and then dismissed the group.
