December 11, 2016 Morning Worship
New and familiar faces were seen during today’s gathering of members and guests of Vine Street Baptist Church.
The service began when Deacon Wally Jeffries read 1 Corinthians 1:27-31. After Wally said a prayer, Jacob Hatcher invited everyone to stand and sing together with him and Jaime.
- Hark the Herald Angel Sing
- Angels We Have Heard on High
A time of fellowship and greeting one another was given, then Senior Pastor Spencer Harmon gave some general announcements about the coming weeks. The ushers came forward and collected the offering after Spencer said a pastoral prayer.
The Bainters lit the Advent Candle and read the scripture. Â The second Advent Candle reflects on Peace, with the scripture this week from Luke 3:4-6. Â The scripture was read by their son and Mickie lit the candle, then the gathered stood and sang more songs.
- O Come, O Come Emmanuel
- Mighty to Save
Spencer took to the platform and read today’s sermon passage before starting the sermon itself.  Today’s message was the next in an Advent series, “Christmas Questions.†The full audio can be heard by clicking on the date link below, or right-click and select “Save As†to save the file to your computer.  Click on the scripture reference to follow along with the reading.
